டோல்கேட் ஃபாஸ்டேக் மாற்றங்கள் :Cashless toll payments become mandatory at Indian highway plazas from April 10, 2026, with FASTag as the primary mode.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a 5% to 7% hike in toll charges at 66 out of 77 toll plazas on national highways in Tamil Nadu, effective from April 1, 2026. தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள 77 சுங்கச்சாவடிகளில் 66 இடங்களில் ஏப்ரல் 1, 2026 முதல் டோல் கட்டணம் 5% முதல் 7% வரை உயர்த்தப்பட உள்ளது. வருடாந்திர FASTag பாஸ் கட்டணம் ரூ.3,000லிருந்து ரூ.3,075 ஆக உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

vehicles without a valid FASTag at national highway toll plazas will face higher fees under the Third Amendment Rules, 2025, announced by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways on October 4, 2025. Cash payments will incur double (2x) the standard toll, while UPI payments attract 1.25x. For a ₹100 FASTag toll, cash users pay ₹200 and UPI ₹125.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari told Parliament that the government has decided to implement electronic toll collection system on several routes to improve toll collection operations and facilitate smooth movement of vehicles. The electronic toll collection system will be implemented within a year, Minister Nitin Gadkari assured.
