Nineteen US states, led by California and Massachusetts, filed a lawsuit on 12 Dec 2025 challenging Trump administration’s $100,000 fee on new H-1B visas, calling it unlawful and harmful to employers in tech, education and healthcare. The fee threatens to cripple hiring of skilled foreign talent used heavily by Amazon, TCS, Microsoft, Meta and Apple.
