Weeks after the Union Cabinet approved Rs.44,203 crore subsidy for two Tata semiconductor plants in Feb 2024, the Tata Group donated Rs.758 crore to BJP through its Progressive Electoral Trust in April 2024 – the largest single contribution before Lok Sabha polls. 15 Tata firms gave Rs.915 crore total, with BJP receiving 82%. Murugappa (Rs.125 Cr) and Kaynes (Rs.12 Cr) also donated to BJP shortly
