Reliance Industries is in advanced negotiations to buy a controlling stake in Chennai-based Udhaiyams Agro Foods, a ₹668 crore player in staples, snacks and ready-to-cook breakfast mixes competing with Tata Consumer, iD Fresh and MTR. Promoters S Sudhakar and S Dinakar will retain minority holdings. The move follows Reliance Retail’s FMCG restructuring into New RCPL.
