From November 21, 2025, India’s new Labour Codes drastically reduce gratuity eligibility from five continuous years to only one year of service in the same organisation. This landmark reform under the Payment of Gratuity Act will benefit lakhs of private-sector employees who frequently change jobs, including fixed-term workers.
